A collection of my podcast appearances and my upcoming podcast – “How’s That Working for Ya? – The Shrink and The Smarty Pants”

Welcome into my multidimensional world where I thrive in the beauty of the North Carolina Mountains. I have worn many hats in my life as professor emeritus at the University of North Carolina, psychotherapist, novelist, journalist, television guest, author, podcaster, public speaker, and landlord. More importantly, I am a husband and friend to many. I love nature and animals and live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina with my spouse, four dogs, and bears almost every day. Most of all, I am a seeker, grateful for the richness of my life. My empowering philosophy is, “Ask not how life is treating you. Ask how you are treating life.”

HOW'S THAT WORKING FOR YA? THE SHRINK AND MS. SMARTY PANTS - PREVIEW

Two unlikely bedfellows

Featuring: The Shrink and The Smarty Pants

Hosts: Dr. Bryan Robinson & Monica Parker

This podcast features two unlikely bedfellows. One is a rock who looks at life through a down-to-earth lens, the other a bird who looks at life through the lighter side. But the unlikeliest part of all is they’re two peas in a pod and adore each other. Still, that doesn’t stop them from disagreeing or even slugging it out (verbally, of course) as the rock opens up and the bird comes in for a landing. Through their lively banter and heartwarming conversations, they share personal life challenges. Their guests include celebrities, plus ordinary and extraordinary people also sharing personal challenges with a common theme. All have overcome obstacles or struggled through trials and tribulations—not by asking, “How is life treating me?” but by asking, “Why isn’t constantly running into a brick wall working for me?” The hosts and guests unearth the hidden gems that come from taking chances on making even the smallest change. Each podcast offers the audience gifts of bite-size wisdom as well as the power of life-affirming humor we all need to break free from everyday mind traps and navigate depths and heights in every life.

Each thirty-minute podcast is broadcast from PlumbTalk Studios in West Palm Beach, Florida in both video and audio format. We want to appeal to lifelong learners who are curious and willing to experience life outside their comfort zones and grow over the course of their lives. Monica and Bryan are in the studio together. Their guests join them virtually from wherever they are on the planet.

RECONSIDERING PODCAST EPISODE 33: WORK ADDICTION WITH BRYAN ROBINSON

Americans love a hard worker. The employee who toils eighteen-hour days and eats meals on the run between appointments is usually viewed with a combination of respect and awe. But for many, this lifestyle leads to family problems, a decline in work productivity, and, ultimately, physical and mental burnout. Bryan Robinson, author of Chained to the Desk in a Hybrid World, knows a thing or two about work addiction. He spent years hiding and repressing destructive additions to his work, which took a toll on his relationships. Today, he’s helping others break the chain including Allanis Morriset who has “greatly benefited from his guidance, experience, knowledge and wisdom on the topic of healing from what I consider to be the quietest and most insidious (and often praised) addiction in today’s times.” Shownotes and transcript: https://reconsidering.substack.com/p/work-addiction-with-bryan-robinson
