My New Book! – She’ll Be Killing ‘Round the Mountain

Bryan E. Robinson, acclaimed psychotherapist and author, is generating buzz with his forthcoming crime novel She’ll Be KILLING ’Round the Mountain. Playing on the familiar cadence of a classic folk song, this title marks Robinson’s bold return to the mystery genre following his well-received debut, Way DEAD Upon the Suwannee River. While precise publication details are still emerging, early interviews and author announcements suggest that the book is complete and poised to captivate fans of Southern noir and psychological suspense.

At the center of She’ll Be KILLING ’Round the Mountain is psychologist and amateur sleuth Einstein Brad Pope, a protagonist who made a strong impression in Robinson’s first novel. With a mix of street smarts and clinical insight, Pope navigates the shadowy crosscurrents of crime and human complexity, making for a narrative that’s as thoughtful as it is thrilling. Robinson’s background in psychology gives his fiction a unique depth, blending gritty plot twists with nuanced character development.

Robinson is no stranger to blending real-world insight with compelling storytelling. As a Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a seasoned clinician, he brings layers of authenticity to his narratives. His work in both fiction and nonfiction reflects a lifelong curiosity about the human condition — a curiosity that readers of psychological drama and mystery fiction will find richly rewarded.

While fans await an official release date and wider availability through major booksellers, the anticipation around She’ll Be KILLING ’Round the Mountain continues to grow. Whether you’re a longtime follower of Robinson’s work or new to his storytelling, this upcoming novel promises a compelling journey into murder, motive, and the intricate workings of the mind.

PLOT/SYNOPSIS

A high-speed shootout and a series of unexplained murders greet Dr. Einstein Brad Pope and his fiance upon their arrival for their wedding in Asheville, NC. The 35-year-old psychologist soon realizes he’s ensnared in a dangerous web of deep-woods survivalists, calling themselves the United Survivalist Army (The Real U.S.A.), preparing for Armageddon in the remote mountains of Western North Carolina. The preppers’ battle cry, “Prepare to Survive or Die,” targets the “zombies”— unprepared citizens like Pope.

The doomsayer-preppers believe the zombies will roam the streets and plunder their carefully hidden cache of supplies when the economy collapses, the electrical grid fails, and apocalyptic weather threatens to wipe people off the map. To survive, Pope is forced to succumb to the same kick-ass, pit-bull tactics of his abusive, alcoholic father against the homegrown militant terrorists. But first, he must win an inner battle with his tortured past to find the line between his integrity and his own survival.
